Teacher lesson!!

WALT: Add and Subtract decimals
Today we learnt how to solve adding and subtracting decimals. We learnt that the first number is the whole and second number is the fraction that is less than 1, Here is an example: So the equation is 2.6 + 4.1=  So how to solve this is 2 + 4= 6 then 6 + 1= 7 and the answer is 2.6 + 4.1= 6.7. Here is an another example: 5.6 - 2.3=, So first we do 5 - 2=3 and 6 - 3= 3 and the answer is 5.6 - 2.3= 3.3.

Maths Teacher Lesson!!!

Today we learnt how to add and subtract fractions. I learnt if the numerator is the same in adding or subtracting it just stays the same. Here is an example: So what if we have 18 2/5 - 9 1/5=, First we takeaway the wholes so: 19 - 9= 8 and then we subtract the fraction 2/5 - 1/5= 1/5 but first we have to see if we can dived it by any number, can you dived 1/5 by anything no you can't so the answer is 1/5. That is how you solve the equation.

Maths Teacher Lesson!!!

Today we learnt how to add and subtract fraction!!! What I learnt is that if your adding an fraction you don't have to add the denominator IF it's the same. For an example: If we had 2/15 + 8/15 + 2/15, so we take the numerator and plus each one. So 8 + 2= 10 + 1= 12, so the answer is 12/15, First we have to see if the answer is actually the simplest form, so what number can you dived it to the simplest form, I chose 3 so then you dived it by 3 and to do that you do: 3 dived a by 12 equals 4 and 3 dived a by 15 equals 5 so the answer is 4/5 BUT first we have to look if the answer is it's simplest form can you dived a by it by any number, no so there is you answer. That is how you solve by adding a fraction.

Maths Teacher Lesson!!

This is what we learnt today. We solves problems with fractions, For an example 8/9 or 8/11 which one is greater. So if the numerator is the same you go down to the numerator, Some people think that the highest number is the greatest but no they are wrong it is actually the smallest number because the smaller the number the bigger the fraction. So our answer is 8/9.

Maths Teacher lesson Week 4

This is one way of solving multiplication question. My group and I learnt this in a few steps, we learnt how to multiply by place value. Watch the video if you don't get what I am saying.

Maths Teacher Lesson Week 7

Today we learnt how to solve fraction problems. Our group and I first named the fraction and most of us already know what it is, the Denominator and Numerator. For an example we have 4/5, we first found to ways of how to draw 4/5, this is when we do the REAL equation here it is 3/5 of 55=. At first we didn't know what it was but now Mr Somerville explained it to us. First we did 55 dived by 5= 11 (1/5), then we do 11 times 3= 33 and there is you answer 33.

Maths teacher lesson Week 6

Solving Division is hard to solve for some of us. Well here is what we did, when we got a division there can be sometimes can be a remainder and you can change the division question into a multiplication to get your answer, Watch the video to see more, hope you enjoy.

Maths Teacher lesson Week 5

Today our task was to solve maths problems with our teacher Mr Somerville. Today we learnt to solve division an easier way, this is what our group did. I will be describing what we did right now. First we needed to change the division into a multiplication, Then times the number that is closer to the biggest number. If the number is less add how much you need to get to the number. Times the number that is added up to the question, then you have the answer well not quite the you add the two numbers and that is how you solve the problem, If you don't get it JUST watch the movie hope you enjoy it.

Problem Solving.

WALT: Solve Accumulation using range skills

Our Task was to Problem Solve. This is me and Adriel's problem solving. These are my working out and Adriel's, Adriel and I worked really hard to do this.  I hope I got these right and you enjoy this.

Protractors Maths Lesson.

What we learned was a new strategy about multiplication, we learned how to do ways more faster. This is our results of our new strategy.
