Writing Results

Hello my blog readers, today I've received my scores from my writing test. From my perspective I think that I have done a really good job for a year 8 student. The things that I did great at is organisation, structure, ideas and spelling. Other things I need to work on is my vocabulary, sentences and punctuation. My score was marked a 4 - 5, I'm really proud of what I've scored.  As the picture on the right shows what I scored and the writing below are the comments from my teachers.

Tech - Cooking / Baking

Today in food tech, Miss Heka showed us a few skills on how to make mince filling. We had to prepare our filling for next weeks pastry, We had to prepare our Mince, Onions, Corn Flour, Oxo and liquid ingredients such as soya sauce, oil and water. After gathering the ingredient, we then cut the onions into small pieces. While doing that we mix corn flour and water together to make a white-ish and grey-ish color, We then grab about two hand full of mince. Let the Mince sit before doing anything with it first. While waiting for the mince to prepare, grab the Oxo and boiling hot water and mix together together until the Oxo has disappeared. Then put the mince in the pan with oil, slowly pour the Oxo into the pan and stir as the mince separates into smaller pieces, later on slowly pour the corn flour mixture into the pan and stir it until the mince has soaked up all of the liquid and only some are left over.

Water Crisis - Aoraki

Predicting - I ask questions, skim and scan the text to decide what is important to make and refine predictions.

Water crisis in Auckland? Lately the weather hasn't really been good, Flooding has been caused and it may affect us. We'll have to save as much water as we can so we won't get to the point where we have to boil water from our tap in order for us to drink it. What would you change in your home to save water?
