Athletics Day - How to achieve your personal best in Athletics!

Your personal best, events like Cross country, Tests or maybe even getting up earlier than you did the day before. But today, Athletics is one main event that us Pt. Englander's achieved in our personal best!

In Athletics there are activities like Javelin, Shot put, Sprints, High Jump, Discus and etc. There are a lot of variety of events you could choose to do your best in, and you could possibly do outstanding in all but personally it's best to train for things you’re least good at it. Working your way up from least favorite events to the events you love the most. Not everything has to be perfect but you always need to try your best in events like these, to satisfy not only you but your family as well!

Another way to achieve your personal best is to always stay in track of your records, So you could obviously know what to work towards for the next event coming up. By keeping your records of the events you took place in, You could compare it to previous years and see if you improved or not. It's also good to keep in track of goals so you could accomplish that and your personal best, that’s a 2 in 1 winning goal. It’ll be easy to write down your record and underline all your goals/training's to see where you’re at.

Always stay calm whenever you’re in and out events, if you were to come last always end with a smile. It’s not always about the placing, it’s about how you did and felt. Not everyone will get what they want but if you simply train and focus on your goals you may have a better chance of coming 1st, 2nd or 3rd.

Well that’s my listing of how to achieve your personal best. Remember it doesn’t have to be Athletics or Cross country, It could simply be a test or grading. Never give up! Always continue on and strive to succeed.

Motivational Talk!

Our morning today, wasn’t that normal at all. In fact we had a inspirational talk with Mr Patterson, He talked to us as to why we aspire to inspire.

During his few things he talked to us about, I picked up some advice that I found more important to me. A few things such as the word Intrinsic, What makes you do good within yourself. I thought to myself as to what makes me do good or bad within me. Things related to being considerate towards other people. Not only thinking about yourself but people who are around you and those who need it more than you do.

Mr Patterson also taught us his formula,  A + I = M. Aspiration & Inspiration to create Motivation. Doing things you love and want to do, Those who inspire you to do it and eventually trying to achieve it in your bestest ability. He explained to us that their are two kind of people in this world, A taker or a giver. Luckily or hopefully most of us are givers.

Being able to give to others, for an example: An 11 year old who gave his lunch and lunch money to a homeless who was apparently crying for a broken marriage, being kicked out of his house and losing his job that he had for a few long years. Basically you could be any age to inspire anyone, even elders. A taker, person who takes but not give in return.  Thoughtless for other people who are unkind by not showing affection to things.

During this morning, I’ve picked up a lot of things. I learnt what I would think or do during situations. My future ahead of me also. Thanks to Mr Patterson I’ve now know what to look forward too but also keeping my head high and striving to succeed.

“If you love what you do, you’ll won’t have to work.”
